Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Council.
Mill City is dedicated to furthering the financial education of our members and we are proud to be able to support members seeking higher education with the opportunity to apply for scholarships.
Due to Mill City’s affiliation with the Minnesota Credit Union Network, Mill City members are eligible to apply for one of ten available scholarships. These scholarships are provided by the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Council (FSC).
The FSC is a committee of the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation. The FSC strives to build credit union brand awareness and strengthen member relationships through their scholarship program. Since its inauguration in 1997, the FSC has benefited 329 credit union members with $196,500 in scholarships. Since Mill City is headquartered in Minnesota, all Mill City members are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
The FSC has $12,000 available in scholarship money for credit union members who are continuing their education!
The FSC will be awarding $12,000 in the form of two (2) $2,000 and eight (10) $1,000 scholarships to 10 credit union members throughout Minnesota. Anyone who is a credit union member pursuing post-secondary education in the fall 2019/spring 2020 OR is a high school senior graduating in 2019 is eligible to apply.
Those interested in applying need to complete an online application and submit an essay, not to exceed 500 words, answering the questions, “Community service is an integral part of credit unions. Share an experience when you contributed your time and/or talents in the community. What did you learn from that experience?”
The scholarship deadline was November 30, 2018. The 10 scholarship recipients will be selected and announced in December 2018.
After the November 30, 2018 deadline, check back in fall of 2019 for additional scholarship opportunities.
