Mill City CU employees donate $4,000 to support local charity
Every year Mill City Credit Union employees nominate and vote on one charity to support as an organization for the year. We hold silent auctions, cook-offs and other activities to assist those around us in our communities.
For 2016 Mill City CU employees nominated and choose Crescent Cove for the organization’s annual give back focus. The mission of Crescent Cove, formerly Children’s Lighthouse of Minnesota, is to offer care and support to children and young adults with a shortened life-expectancy, and their families. They intend to fulfill this dream by creating one of only a handful of children’s residential hospice and respite care homes in the United States.

Total money raised including matched funds climbed to $4,000 for Crescent Cove this year! Staff were busy donating silent auction items and contributing food for cook-offs (and buying auction items and food!) to raise funds for this worthy organization. Employees also had the exciting opportunity to make tie blankets for the children at Crescent Cove and provide them during Plus it Forward day held in October. We’re so excited that we were able to partner with Crescent Cove this year and double our fund raising efforts with the help of Minnesota’s Give to the Max day – better known as GiveMN!
We can’t wait to see what 2017 will bring!
